Resilience Food Stories is a global multimedia project that shows how farmers, growers and scientists actively contribute to sustainable food production.
Since 2017, photographer/filmmaker Ruud Sies and creative producer Hanneke van Hintum have made 120 portraits and stories spread across 22 countries on 5 continents.
Resilience Food Stories is increasing societal awareness about the extraordinary actions and possibilities of producing our food healthier, safer, more productive and more resilient worldwide.
Everyone in the food chain, from farmers, growers, agronomists and governments to retailers, chefs and food lovers can contribute to the security of our food supplies.
By informing a broad public we make a first stap in cultivating leaders who can implement change at a community level and within the key sectors of agriculture and food production.
The launch of Resilience Food Stories in June 2026 will begin with
the opening of a large-scale exhibition, Good Food: A Journey Through the World of Resilient Agriculture, at the National Museum of Photography (Nederlands Fotomuseum) in Rotterdam. Opening Thursday June 11th 2026
The book Good Food will be presented Juni 11th at the exhibition’s opening.
A unique event will be organised two days before the public opening.
It will be a day full of hopeful stories and inspiration by farmers and scientist from the stories of Resilience Food Stories, with time and space for meeting and exchange and, of course, with good food.
This day is for invited guests and project ambassadors, for the press, and especially for the guests selected by our partners.
During the exhibition’s duration, from June 11th till November 1st , we will organise events and debates with interdisciplinary dialogues on agriculture, food, and sustainability.
Furthermore, presentations, workshops, and community-driven projects will be developed at relevant moments and locations.
"There is value and truth in the romantic idea that we are connected to the land, and that connection expresses itself in the source of our food: a healthy earth produces healthy food, for healthy people."
Ruud Sies, photographer/filmer
"Resilience Food Stories is not just about the resilience of nature but about the resilience of people and the culture in which they live."
Hanneke van Hintum, creative producer
